History of the small hydro company limited

Brought together as members of the acumen7 network, the three founders of the small hydro company, believed that there was not sufficient focus on delivering renewable energy generating assets in the UK  to meet the challenges of Climate Change.

Motivated by a sense of social responsibility, eighteen months on from the original concept, the small hydro company ltd has secured an expert and experienced supply chain to embark on a national investment programme.

From the outset the small hydro company has engaged with all the stakeholders involved, including landowners, owners of the river structures and the statutory authorities with a view to develop working partnerships aimed at resolving the practical issues at the macro level, for a common global benefit. 

A recent partnership with British Waterways has provided stakeholder and investor confidence that a range of opportunities will be developed to their full potential.

The small hydro company ltd expects to develop a minimum of twenty five sites over the next three years and to make a significant contribution to the Government’s target for hydro as a source of renewable energy.
